Interview with Humble Bundle's Jeffrey Rosen
Bret: How did you get the news out about the Humble Indie Bundle so well? I would of expected that you
would of only gotten a few hundred people to buy it, not over 300,000 downloads!
Jeffrey: It boils down to "make something people want". People really liked the Humble Bundle and
told their friends about it. :) It's easier to look at what made the bundle different: Mac and Linux
support, DRM-free, pay what you want, support charity, no account needed, etc. The combination of all
those things put the bundle over the elusive threshold of "newsworthiness"...
Minecraft: What Makes It Stick
Picking away, block after block, seems like an enormous waste of time when seen from outside Minecraft.
You're going to hold down your mouse button for hours watching the same crack animation overlay appear
on block after block, just to find a one-in-a-million diamond ore pit (which will just make you more
pickaxes with which to dig more?) The answer for most people who play, however, is an almost begrudging
"yes." Because Minecraft, even though it is built on very few core elements, has a sense of majestic
discovery to it-on the other side of any block could lie an enormous and expansive cave filled with lava,
water, coal, redstone, iron, diamond...
HeliRescue Review
HeliRescue is a game of extreme simplicity. Helplessly trying to avoid the dangers of the skies, a
helicopter rescue team starts their engines to save people left on islands of dirt raised into the air
